After reviewing Cricket's Kyocera S1300, I was impressed with its' call quality and basic functionality. Despite its' lack of other extras this phone is a great starter for the tween in the family or for someone who just wants simplicity.

Surprised to know that S1300 is HAC-compliant and supports TTY/TDD for the hearing-impaired. I opted for this for its style and perks at an affordable cost.

I bought this phone for my neice without the bells and whistles because she is only 11yrs old. This is a perfectly fine phone for a child to have in case of emergencies. It does have some games and texting abilities, but we'll leave the more featured and expensive phones for when she gets a J.O.B.!
