From the first apple that fell on Sir Issac Newton, that lead to the discovery of gravity, to the next revolution as Apple is reportedly creating a team to design their own semi-conductor chips for future iPhones and/or iPods.
For years Apple has weighed heavily on chip designers from companies, such as Samsung, for iPhone chipsets, which has frustrated the cell phone maker as their future plans are for less power-hungry products and stronger applications.Â
Apple has never enjoyed sharing its' information with other companies, so with all the additional perks Apple will get from designing its own chips, confidentiality will be at the top of the list. Of course, there have been accusations that Samsung, who has yet to comment, have been sharing Apple's technical specs with competing companies. This accusation has placed Apple in a particularly uncomfortable situation and placed strain on the partners' relationship.
With an impressive number of engineers, currently over 100 - some former Intel hires, Apple is looking to establish their own chip department by partnering in a job fair specifically to hire open and available engineers. Â
Apple's ambition to control their own chip production will gives them the ability to create better vidz, power outputs and graphics. And in the end... a better product for consumers.
