Jitterbug Cell Phone Recall

On May 22, 2009 a recall was issued on the Jitterbug Cell Phone. 

It has been determined that the Jitterbug does not connect to emergency 911 when out of the service distributors range.  Instead the cell phone displays an “out of range, try again later” message.

As of today there are no other Samsung wireless phones included in this recall.  This recall includes approximately 160,000 Jitterbug Cell Phones purchased between March 2008 and March 2009.

 This recall involves “Jitterbug” cell phones model numbers SPH-a110 and SPH-a120 with standard key pads and version BB14 software. No other Samsung wireless phones or software versions are included in this recall.

 Samsung and Jitterbug are currently in the process of contacting consumers who purchased the Jitterbug to schedule a free software upgrade.  Consumers are welcome to contact Samsung if they have not already been notified.
